Therapy for Adults

I provide services for people in all developmental stages of adulthood.

As we grow through different stages of our childhood and into adulthood, life happens. Events in our life tend to chip away at who we are and who we were meant to be, and we often begin to feel disconnected from ourselves and others. We get to ask ourselves: “What about the past is influencing the present? What about the past is keeping me from being happy with myself and my loved ones?”

In order to become connected and intimate with others, we need to start by improving the quality of connection to ourselves. Many life events, situations, or relationships can interfere with our growth. When feeling disempowered, our capacity to access a full self, and our ability to truly connect to others become limited.

By reaching out and making a commitment to therapy, we have an opportunity to improve our self awareness and gain critical insight. From there, we begin to heal and transform the negative limiting beliefs into more authentic beliefs. With a stronger connection to ourselves, we are better at connecting to others, creating a life of community rather than isolation. Our sense of purpose becomes clearer, and we experience more joy and gratitude.

Ultimately, I help people gain an understanding of what may have contributed to feelings of emotional overwhelm, worry, fear, sadness, disappointment, hopelessness and anxiety while establishing a new practice of self-acceptance, compassion, and kindness. These same attributes can then be extended outward to others.

When measuring happiness, researchers looked at three things:

PRIDE: Life satisfaction, rate yourself 0 to 10.
PLEASURE: How often you smiled, laughed, or felt joy during the last 24 hours.
PURPOSE: Do you feel You have meaning in your life? Did you learn or do something interesting yesterday?
